Collateral Consequences of Criminal & Juvenile Records
One in four Minnesotans has a criminal record, while more than 90% of employers are conducting criminal background checks. To better understand how a probationer’s criminal record may impact current and future employment or licensing opportunities, and to learn how to help probationers advocate for themselves in spite of the record, attend this presentation.
This lecture will provide a primer on subjects of litigation frequently facing parole, probation, and supervised release agents. It will include discussions of common causes of action, best practices for avoiding legal complaints, and strategies for effectively responding to and defending against lawsuits that have come to bear.
